"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20
We believe missions should be done everywhere–in our local community, in our nation, and to the ends of the Earth. We do not believe that international missions has to be done at the expense of the local community nor do local efforts have to be done while neglecting the lost around the world. The command of Christ is to go to all people and we simply want to be obedient to that call, wherever the Lord sends us.
As we understand Scripture, all of Jesus' followers should pray for the gospel to reach the ends of the earth, therefore we do exactly that–pray. When it comes to service, there are three options...to send, to go, or to be disobedient. We seek to be obedient to Christ's call to carry the good news of Jesus to the ends of the earth.
In regards to international missions we are a sending church. In regards to local missions we are a serving church. Of course the two overlap but our agenda is clear. We desire to send from our church so that others around the world can see the beauty and worth of Jesus Christ. We desire to serve our community, not as an end in itself, but as an opportunity to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ.
